I have been told that I might have ADHD by more teachers than I can remember, but for some reason I have no problem paying attention in art school, hmm...........
I refer back to this video every once in a while. This is exactly why I decided I needed to teach art in High School. Someone has to try to create a counterbalance to the forces of whip-driven memorization.
Have you ever seen the Simpsons episode where Lisa steals all the teacher's editions? I feel like that sums up our educational system very well. The teachers themselves are just as numbed by the forces of whip-driven memorization. Next thing you know, the principal will start recommending that they go on Ritalin. The whole systems fucked! Start a revolution, Josh!
