Another new sample with interesting rivet treatment








Moving deeper into the idea of creating contours within joined bar, this time with halving joints. I prefer the look of the halving joints, however they present their own set of problems when you push and pull them out of  their comfort zone.

These joints stretched so much when the piece was dished, that they came apart. However, within that problem lied an opportunity because that led to the ball punch at the end of the rivet to secure it back together. The ball punch combined with the spread around the rivet head creates a very interesting joint in my opinion.
